Weddings

What I do & how I do it...

You will have lots of seriously awesome, super fun days as a couple and your wedding should absolutely be one of them. My philosophy is that I am there to capture these grin-filled, emotion-brimmed moments as they unfold and to capture them honestly, to be there with you and your loved ones but never in your way, to tell your story in the most organic yet creative way I can. As well as capturing the big and little moments, the group shots and the candids, I tend to also act as a bit of a PA for the day - grabbing glasses of water, stitching beads back onto dresses (yes, I'm an old lady and carry a little sewing kit in my camera bag), helping to keep things to time and generally just being a source of whatever energy my couples need me to be. Good people, good music, good vibes and good laughs is what I'm all about, so if that's also your jam I'm sure we'll get along just grand!

I like my couple portraits to sit in that sweet spot right in the middle of being choreographed and candid. I’ll set you up and give gentle direction here and there to keep you in the best type of light and the best spot in a frame, but aside from that it’s all about you doing what feels lovely and comfortable (I would say “normal”, but let’s be real - there’s nothing normal about having a professional photographer take your photograph!). My couples make all the magic by simply being their lovely wee selves - that's where the real emotion and honesty comes from, and also when I feel most comfortable not only in front of a camera but also behind mine - win/win! I'll never make you do something that just doesn't feel like you.

Couples & pre-wedding shoots

A couple's shoot is a wonderful way for us to get to know each other on the lead up to your wedding so I'm not a stranger on the day. Most couples aren't used to being in front of the camera, so a couple's shoot before your wedding helps to ease you into having photos taken together and also gets you comfortable with how I work so there's no dread on the lead up to your bride & groom portraits when it comes to the wedding itself.
